I wanted to pass along a link to a wonderful math site called YouCubed for you to use as a resource at home (if you would like) with your child.
It happens often that students have a fixed mindset when it comes to their ability in math and I want to help change that this year. Everyone can do math and do math well! There is no such thing as a 'math brain' or someone who is naturally a 'math person.' If you have a growth mindset and GRIT - you can learn any and all math. Our brains grow and change when we make mistakes - so, not being afraid of making a mistake in math class is something that will be stressed this year. We have already had many discussions about this in the first two weeks. Parents - I encourage you to navigate around the site and if you are looking for additional tasks to do at home to reinforce math concepts, there are many great ones on this site. Please click on the image below to be redirected to the YouCubed site.
